Accommodation Cabins

Asterholma Stugby

Asterholma cottage village is located in Asterholma, a charming little island situated in Brändö, in the north eastern part of the beautiful Åland archipelago. There are 6 modern 3-room cabins providing space for 4-6 guests in each.

We have both 3- and 4-star cabins. Each cabin has 2 bedrooms, a combined kitchen/living room with open fireplace and a well equipped kitchen, wc, shower and electric sauna. Each cabin is also equipped with its own terrace including outdoor furniture and charcoal grill. All the terraces face south west, so all guests can enjoy magical sunsets.

Each cabin has 2 bedrooms: the one with double bed, the other, a little smaller, with bunk beds. In addition there is a bed sofa in the living room. That means that the cabin suits for 4 persons - or even for 6 guests when the two extra beds are used. The cabins were partly renovated and refurnished year 2009.

We have a few cabins where pets are allowed and welcome. If you are allergic we also have two pet-free cabins where pets are not allowed to stay.
One of our cabins has access ramp for wheelchairs. We have fibre optic broadband.

There is no grocery store on Asterholma, so it is necessary to take a ferry to the neighbouring islands of Lappo or Torsholma for provisions. You can e. g. order breakfast in advance for an even more pleasant start of your vacation. Kindly contact us well in advance if you wish us to fill your fridge with food and other ingredients of your choice.

Close by on the smooth cliffs just on the edge of the holiday village there’s a sauna and a water trampoline. In roughly 200 meters you also find a small beach that suits younger children. Near the water in the holiday village you’ll find a smoke-oven to prepare the fish but also a larger outdoor barbecue that got a fantastic view where you can look at the sunset.

To explore the island we suggest you borrow one of our “old” bikes. If the wonderful nature and islands in the archipelago is your goal you can rent a boat. There’s also plenty of fishing water and permits are available for purchase. Depending on the season we also offer seal safaris, guided fishing tours or a visit to the sheep farm on the next island.

You can also go on a prepared hiking trails that are 2,5 (1,3 miles) kilometers and 3,5 (2,2 miles) kilometers. You’ll find amazing scenery following the trails that take you near water and over rocks.
