Children's Eckerö with Game Safari
The savanna may seem far away in Åland, but appearances are deceiving. In Käringsund in Eckerö, there is a huge wildlife enclosure covering 32 hectares where you can join a game safari and see red deer, fallow deer, ostriches, llamas, and wild boars up close.
The safari vehicle can accommodate about 40 people, and the tour lasts approximately 45 minutes. The start and stop are at the Hunting and Fishing Museum.
At the entrance to the safari, there is also a small safari shop offering coffee, soda, ice cream, sweets, and souvenirs. The safari shop also sells meat products such as wild game sausages, smoked deer and wild boar meat, as well as ostrich eggs, so don’t forget to bring a cooler bag.
